Although they offer dazzling colors water-based inks lay flat on the less porous Mylar and may need prior treatment and or varnish.

These inks are cured by ultraviolet light. They dry immediately and are set to give heavy-duty printed artwork. UV ink offers very bright shades, which have strong abrasion resistance and great sturdiness. These inks are best for fine prints on Mylar bags since it is very detailed and has high-quality finishes.

Flexographic inks are for flexographic printing, these inks are solvent and water-based inks. Water-based inks are more common rather than solvent inks. They offer very good coverage, have very short drying times, and are quite good at color rendering. Flexographic inks are used where the client requires a high number of prints and it is ideal for printing the high number of Mylar bags.

These inks are solvent-based and are meant for durability with high-quality prints. Used for their producing dense, bright, and very detailed prints, gravure inks perform excellently on Mylar bags helping to produce intricate or large quantity prints.

Plastisol inks consist of PVC particles dispersed in a plasticizer solvent. A plastisol ink typically contains 45-60% PVC by weight. These inks provide good opacity and have tremendous durability but have a problem of not curation when they are used properly, the heat is required to cure them, and it is best suited for small quantities or for producing designs of a special kind.

The pigment-based inks contain solid particles that are dispersed in the liquid ink carrier to provide richer, longer-lasting images than the dye-based inks. Resistant to fading, water, and light exposure, it is perfect to use on Mylar bags that have to remain colored for a long time. Pigment inks are versatile and can be used on many different substrates, such as Mylar, and are very long-lasting.

It includes dyes that can dissolve within the liquid carrier, giving the ink to give bright and vivid colors. Dye inks are the least opaque when compared with pigment inks, which offer clean washout and better transparency than pigment inks.
